Marchery!

March sees a wide variety of both indoor and outdoor archery events.

With no clear cut end to indoor or beginning to outdoor season, March sees a myriad of events for all kinds of competitions.

Writing from Florida, and having lived in various parts of the country, it's a bit challenging to remember what the weather is like where right now. Having said that, I can still say with confidence that it's pretty much the front end of Spring in one form or another for most of the country. Spring means transition for many things, and definitely for archery. Those of us addicted to making those sticks go "THWACK" seem to love switching it up, and in the month of March, if you are so inclined, you can do just that.

Last month I heard many people proclaim the end of indoor season after the Lancaster and Vegas shoots, but that is definitely not the case. Just USA Archery alone has over TWENTY archery events listed for the month of March. Few of them are outdoors. The NFAA has nearly FIFTY events, mostly indoors! NASP has a quiver-load more. ASA is hosting a 3D Pro-Am tournament as well as events being put on by their Federation of Clubs. Let's not forget the Mounted Archery Association of The Americas. They have an event in March as well.

Included in these competitions are virtual tournaments, indoor sectionals, regionals, states and national championships, outdoor barebow, recurve and longbow, compound bow, Olympic recurve and Olympic barebow. Field and target archery, 3D, and testing your archery skills from horseback. Any way you like it, March is a great time of year to participate in a wide variety of archery events.

If you have a favorite type of archery that we haven't touched on, please let us know. We want to expose all types of archery to as many people as possible.
